The Operations Committee of the Clarke County Republican Committee (CCRC) is a special committee established under Article XI, Section C of the CCRC By-Laws, which authorizes the Unit Chairman to create ad-hoc committees as needed to support the party's objectives. This committee focuses on grassroots mobilization and logistical support during critical election periods, aligning with the broader duties of the Unit Committee outlined in Article III of the CCRC By-Laws (e.g., cooperating with state and district committees in elections and fund-raising) and the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) Party Plan's emphasis on conducting elections and promoting Republican principles (Article I and Article VI). Purpose and Responsibilities
Election Day and Pre-Election Support: The committee is primarily designed to bolster activities on Election Day and in the 45 days leading up to it. This includes coordinating volunteer efforts for door-knocking, phone banking, and voter turnout initiatives to ensure high participation among Republican-leaning voters. Election Integrity: Members work to safeguard the voting process by monitoring polling places, training poll watchers, and collaborating with local election officials to report and address any irregularities, in accordance with Virginia election laws and RPV guidelines on fair participation (Article I, Section A of the RPV Party Plan). Material Distribution: Responsible for the procurement, storage, and distribution of campaign materials such as yard signs, literature, bumper stickers, and other promotional items for Republican candidates. This ensures consistent messaging and visibility across Clarke County precincts. Logistics and Coordination: Organizes transportation for voters, sets up election-day operations at polling sites (e.g., greeting voters, providing information), and coordinates with the Precinct Captains Committee for precinct-specific needs. Alignment with RPV Party Plan: All activities must comply with RPV rules on participation (no registration fees for nomination processes per Article I) and official committee operations (Article VII), ensuring inclusivity and adherence to Robert's Rules of Order.
