In every even year during late winter and early spring, the Republican Party must reconstitute itself, at the local level electing precinct members and officers. Everyone has an equal opportunity, including myself.
Our process is open to all Clarke County Republicans who I urge at a minimum to come out to elect the Republicans that will represent you in party matters. Better yet, run yourself for precinct member or officer.
At the heart of republicanism is representation. The ClarkeGOP uses a 2 step process that is quintessentially republican. On March 23rd we will hold a party canvass (firehouse primary) to elect delegates to our county convention, as well as delegates to the 6th Congressional District Republican Committee convention, and delegates to the Republican Party of Virginia convention. All Clarke County Republicans are eligible to vote in the party canvass.
To run as a delegate from your precinct, you will need to file by February 24th. All information can be found at ClarkeGOP.com under the **"News" **pull down menu.
Following, the elected delegates to our convention will convene on April 13th to elect precinct members and officers to the Clarke County Republican Committee, as well as vote on a proposed by-laws changes. All candidates are required to file by February 24th*** with the Secretary of the ClarkeGOP. **Filing forms can be found on this website under the "News" pulldown menu.
You will also find information at ClarkeGOP.com under "News" about running for 6th Congressional District Republican Committee positions and the Republican Party of Virginia positions.
Our grass roots efforts require participation in order to bring about the government we want. A just government that protects our rights requires more than just voting, the DO matters.
We have two primaries this year. One which is happening now, the Presidential and then one in June to nominate a candidate for Congress and one for the US Senate. Lastly there is the general election in November.
Come join us.
