REDISTRICTING REFERENDUM HAS BEEN DEEMED UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND OF NO EFFECT.
Great news coming out of the Virginia Supreme Court today as it held, in a 4-3 decision, "We hold that the legislative process employed to advance this
proposal violated Article XII, Section 1 of the Constitution of Virginia. This constitutional violation incurably taints the resulting referendum vote and nullifies its legal efficacy."
It is now time to gear up to choose our Senate candidate in the August primary. Those who have filed include: Kim Farington, Bert Mizusawa, and David Williams.
As well, a big thank you to our current Congressman, Ben Cline, for pursuing judicial review of the redistricting referendum. Ultimately, the challenges resulted in keeping Virginia's Congressional Districts representative of its balanced voting history.
